Chronology of cameras Konica
At the advent of compact cameras with zoom, brands found themselves confronted with the problem of naming different models. Most of them gave a series name, followed by a number evoking the minimum and maximum focal lengths. The rapid evolution of zoom ranges resulted in an equally rapid variation in the number in the model name. Unfortunately, the complexity of these changes eventually shattered this rigor.
In the present case, the series is called Zoom followed by the first two digits corresponding to the longest focal length, followed by two digits corresponding almost to the shortest focal length. That's the theory, but in practice, the rule is not followed:
Zoom 1135 N for a maximum focal length of 110 mm and a minimum focal length of 38 mm
Zoom 1235 N for a maximum focal length of 130 mm and a minimum focal length of 38 mm
Zoom 1435 N for a maximum focal length of 140 mm and a minimum focal length of 38 mm
We observe that the minimum focal length in this series is always 38 mm and not 35 mm. The series could have been called Zoom XX38. The Zoom 1235 N should have been called 1335 N considering its maximum focal length.
The positioning of this series in relation to the Z-up series is confusing.
A screen on the top cover allows for the selection of various functions and modes: timer, red-eye reduction, flash, exposure correction, and landscape mode.
The flash is effective from 0.8 to 5.3 m (at 38 mm) and from 0.8 to 2 m (at 110 mm) for a 100 ISO film. Its characteristics are identical to those of the Z-up 110 VP.
